YOUR FASHION, YOUR STYLE, YOUR SENSE

Your Fashion.

Have you ever been to a department store and saw an outfit and thought to yourself, “I can see so-and-so wearing this?” I know I’ve done it before. I can literally associate almost every type of style and clothing to a particular person. Why is that? See, fashion is all relative too. Personality, social influences, and even demographics are ways we develop our sense of style and fashion. How are we able to associate or connect a particular style or clothing piece with someone? Very simple, we all have our own style and it is the very reason we create fashion.

Your Style.

Just like beauty, fashion is definitely in the eye of the beholder. What may seem fashionable to one person can be pure couture trash to another or vice versa. It doesn’t make one right and the other wrong. It’s simply put…fashion is fashion! Some may argue my point. However, in owning your own style, always…I mean always…rock it with confidence!

“Style is a way to say who we are without having to speak” -Rachel Zoe.

Believe it or not, we all have some sense of style. From the strategic manner in which we pick our clothes or even the lack of effort that’s put forth in choosing something to wear at the last minute are all part of the process of how we develop personal style.

Your Sense.

Just like everything else in life, your sense of fashion WILL evolve. what you like now, you won’t anymore. What you thought was hot, will become a “what the heck was I thinking” moment in your life one day. That’s the beauty of it! Your sense of fashion, is an artistic form of who you are overall. It tells a story! That is why in some cases, people can identify you or connect you to some sort of style of fashion.

“Don’t change to fit the fashion, change the fashion to fit you.”

As a stylist and consultant, I always remind my clients that part of being fashioned and styled isn’t just centered around the clothes you wear or even changing what you like. It’s more about who you are and staying true and authentic to yourself. Having a fashion imprint isn’t bad at all. In fact, it’s your story being told by what you wear.

You are a walking art piece! While your identity IS NOT found in what you wear or clothing articles whatsoever, do understand that it is apart of your visual artistic expressions. Take what like and enhance, improve, and evolve with it. After all, it’s your fashion, your style, and your sense. Can no one do you like you.
