UNSOLICITED OPINIONS

I have a love and hate relationship with social media outlets. I love how I can brand my stuff, connect with followers, and reunite with people I’ve not seen in years. Then there’s the part that I absolutely hate, you know seeing and reading the hateful comments that people give to other members in the social media community. For some reason, there’s an unspoken assumption that we are entitled to make cruel comments on someones page because it’s our right too…uhmm, No!

One in particular that I constantly see is a whole lot of “I’m entitled to my opinion” floating around, especially when someone is justifying their reason for picking and tearing someone apart with their careless words. Listen…that behavior isn’t an opinion. It’s more like the individual being super insecure and projecting that insecurity unto that person they are attacking with words. When you have time to log into your social media account and type up something absurd and hateful to someone and defining it as your opinion, it’s just plain desperation, deep rooted insecurities, and a cry for attention on your part.

Yes, people are entitled to feel and say what you want, but remember that as humans we all aren’t perfect at all, and just understand that someone else can find something negative about you to magnify and attack too. So let’s do better people, especially us women. We have to stop attacking each other with words and calling it an opinion, because it’s not an opinion.
