TRENDY FALL COATS

Colder days calls for bigger and trendier outerwear. For this season, over-sized coats seems to be the “it” factor. Aside from the comfort and warmth it promises to bring, I believe that oversized coats leaves a more sophisticated look to your style. Personally for me, I have to update my coat closet. It’s about that time! Meanwhile while I cyber-searched for the most affordable and stylish coat to grace a space in my closet, I stumbled on these beauties and wanted to share them with you. These are my favorite thus far. Let me know what you think.

OVERSIZED PONCHO

No, this isn’t your Aunt Agatha’s poncho from the 70’s and it’s definitely not that contraption you have hidden somewhere deep down in the basement that’s only taken out on rainy days. What you see here is a poncho! And believe me they are definitely in. Not only does this keep you warm, it gives off a really chic look with any outfit your wear. Business casual or a dress down occasion, doesn’t matter! 

THE TRENCH COAT

 A new twist to a classic style. Over the decades the trench coat has had many makeovers. However today, everything about this coat screams CHIC & CLASSY. This Stylish coat can be worn practically anywhere with anything.

PATTERNED OVERSIZED COAT

Want to bring a little pizzaz to your Fall outerwear look? Throw on an oversized patterned wool coat and watch what happens! Okay, okay, it’s not a magical coat but it can definitely work some styling miracles. What I love about this type of coat is the versatility it brings. You can have the most simplest outfit underneath and this coat will take it to another level.

BOLD STATEMENT COAT

Often Fall and Winter are associated with certain types of colors. The moment you step into a department store everything seems uniformed. Grays, dark blues, black, and browns are the usual colors I see. Designers tend to stick to what works for consumers and bright bold colored coats isn’t the usual. Once in a while, you’ll spot a really bold color one and it’s okay. Cobalt, bright reds, pinks are a few colors I’ve seen this Fall. Take a chance and be bold this season.

FAUX FUR COAT

I have to be honest with you. I wasn’t a big a fan of fur coats in the past. Fur vests, Yes! Fur coats, No! Reason being…I always thought that it made the person wearing it look like a life-sized walking carpet-rug-watchamacallit. Needless to say, as I studied fashion over the years I’ve come to understand that fur coats aren’t particularly worn the correct way. Hence the reason why a few tend to look like pimps or a hustle man trying to sell something. Knowing how to style this baby is a must! Throw on a pair of skinny jeans or leggings to balance out the entire look.
