If you’re searching for an affordable Caribbean vacation experience, then Nassau is the place for you. Back in December of 2013 I had the privilege of traveling to the commonwealth of the Bahamas. While this wasn’t my first time there, it was definitely my first time traveling alone, and my first time traveling on a Cruise Line. Days leading up to the trip, I was extremely nervous and anxious about the entire experience. After having a few conversations with my sister Julie, she managed to convince me to just take a chance and go for it. Besides, there’s no way she’d let me back out of it because of all the planning and expenses that went into it. After thinking it through, I made the decision to go. I must say, Bahamas is such a beautiful place filled with a variety of things to do.

Whether you’re on a tight budget or have no budget at all, it provides you with so much options to choose from, you definitely can’t miss out. If you’re into jet skiing, parasailing, exploring the area, strolling down the beach or maybe you want to visit the famous Atlantis resort, whatever you’re into, trust me it’s readily available at a bargaining price for you. Personally, I wasn’t particularly interested with experiencing those types of excursions. My focus was definitely found in shopping. If you are like me, the market place is the perfect place to be. In addition to that, you’ll find a plethora of street merchants selling all sort of items. I myself purchased food, t-shirts, a few key chains, and other cool souvenirs. I also tell people to try out the conch and fresh fish before leaving. You won’t regret it. From beautiful beaches to vibrant people, Bahamas will have you feeling like you’ve taken a piece of paradise back home with you. The only downside is, there are the so many streets merchants competing for your business, they tend to get a little aggressive and unprofessional when trying to make a sale. For some people it can be an uncomfortable experience. However, no worries about it. It’s harmless. Selling merchandise is their livelihood and in many cases their primary source of income. If you’re not willing to buy just kindly deny it and move on. Other than, Nassau, Bahamas I can say I truly enjoyed my stay there. Although I didn’t get to explore the island in it’s entirety, I do look forward to another visit in the future.
