TRANSITIONING OUTFITS

So apparently the weather is a bit quirky and off. It feels like Summer, however the apparent evidence of the beautiful foliage is a clear indicator that we are indeed in the Fall season. If my memory serves me well, this time around last year, the weather was cool, crisp, and warranted for long sweaters and light coats. This is usually the type of weather that makes you break out your over-the-knee-boots and leggings. However here in the “A”, the weather lately has your girl feeling like we’re still experiencing a nice Summer day. As October comes to an end, Fall has definitely taken a liken to Summer and refuses to part ways with it. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been a bit perplexed these past few weeks, because I don’t know if I should wear Summer or Fall clothing.  So what do we do when trying to style for this confusing-transitioning-bipolar weather?

For today’s shoot, the temperature was a bit cool and on the breezy side. With that in mind I knew I needed to wear something warm yet cool enough in case the temperature begin to rise. In order to deal with this unstable temperature patterns of that day, I needed to be prepared. I went with transitioning pieces that kept me fashionable and comfortable at the same time. The best way to wear transitioning outfits is knowing how to keep it real simple. You should wear pieces that you can easily switch over to without any problems. To avoid being overly dressed or underdressed always check the temperature for that day and prepare for it.

This is pretty much the same concept I applied for my photoshoot. Transitioning pieces are easy to create. For instance, pair a sweater with denim and open-toe shoes or a blouse with a skirt to add with a light-weight coat and boots. That way you are stylish, warm, and can always de-robe quickly and easily if need be. For my look today, I decided to wear a lightweight pants-suit (made from cotton) and a fringe-wooly like coat to keep me warm. I then added an open-toe platform to finish the entire look. I was prepared in case the weather decided to warm up on me (and it did!). My look was very simple to create and easy to transition out of as the temperature flop flopped. You too can create this same simple transitioning look. As Fall tries very hard to be…well…Fall, Remember to keep it simple and stylish!
