While scrolling through my old blog posts, I realized that I never published this one written three or four months ago. I’m not sure how I missed this one, but I did. Although the message is old, it’s definitely something I needed to see today. I still believe in this message and still feel that it is applicable for me and for some of you now more than ever. This is my gentle reminder of how far I’ve come and how much more I need to go travel. The road isn’t always easy…but I’m still moving towards the goal.
Here we go.
I wasn’t always this sure or confident of myself once upon a time. As long as I could remember I’ve always had this vision of who I wanted to become, however just unsure of how I’d get there. Life hasn’t always been easy. Like many of you, I’ve been through some stuff! Yet I’m still here by God’s grace! Although I’ve come a long way, I still have ways to go. Self assurance and confidence doesn’t always come easy for me because there’s always this battle between humility and this false sense of self-doubt. If I can be real with you all, sometimes that battle is feeling like I’m undeserving of it all. In the midst of trying to find that balance, I am constantly encouraged by God to see the beauty of who I am and the struggles that makes my story all the more authentic and real. In more ways than others, it’s the uniqueness that has become the pivotal point in my life’s journey. Ironically, as I was discovering this epiphany, it was at that very moment Blessed and Chic was birthed. I wanted to bridge my love of fashion, design, self assurance, education, and inner discovery into one big marriage. I’m still walking and figuring it out along the way. However, that’s the beauty of it. Moving and learning as you go! As a reminder, Blessed and Chic is more than just a blog or brand! It is recognizing the beauty of you. Fashioning Yourself From The Inside Out. Living a fulfilled life. Walking in your purpose and being completely confident in God by knowing your worth.
