For the past few days, the hubby and I have gone on prayer walks at the park. At first, I wasn’t for it at all. It was my husband’s idea to go on these prayer walks in weather conditions that I’d rather avoid. The cold, rain, and sleet isn’t the best time to take a stroll at the park you know. Nonetheless, as his wife I trust my man’s judgement and ideas even when it’s something I’d usually disoblige from doing.
On one of our prayer walks, I was extremely uncomfortable and wanted to go home. I was cold and the wind was stinging my face…but I made a choice to just let go and forget the circumstances of what was happening around me. I decided to forget where I was for just a moment. I withdrew internally to a place where I could just search my thoughts and release them through prayer. I remember the moment of letting go.
It was amazingly refreshing and peaceful despite what was going on around me. During this prayer, I didn’t hold back anything. I expressed everything that needed to be said. I purged and purged and even found myself praying for others and some of the issues going on in our world today. Believe me, prayer walks are good. Prayer itself is even better! It’s a opportunity to talk to God to release or to give thanks and meditate.
