SPRING 2015 FASHION TRENDS

We are officially in Spring! I must say It was definitely a rough winter for most of us. However, now that we have old man Frost off our backs, I thought why not commemorate the changing of the seasons by putting together a collage of the 2015 Spring Fashion Trends. Spring is the season of soft colors and open-toed shoes. At times, I find it difficult trying to figure out what to wear when transitioning from Winter to Spring. My guess is, you’re probably dealing with the same problem too. Hopefully this collage can give you a sense of how to style yourself with the clothes you already have in your closet. Enjoy!

Mixing Prints: Who said your outfit had to match all the time? Mixing prints is hitting the runways once again. Some say it’s very daring. I consider it to be a more bold-chic look. When mixing prints be sure to have some sort of order going. The color palettes shouldn’t clash with each other nor should it look like a bunch of crayons threw up on you. When wearing a pair of paints or skirt with a much larger or colorful print, try wearing a printed blouse that is more subtle to bring the whole look together. If you are bold or daring with your style, then mixing prints is definitely for you.

Gingham: If you’re wondering why this Gingham print looks so familiar, that’s because it’s been around for quite some time. You may have seen it in the men’s department in the form of a dress shirt, or on Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, or perhaps you’ve seen it as picnic table cloth. Regardless of how or what this print is used for, it surely stands out. Kudos to the fashion genius for revamping this look by adding a woman’s touch to it. Ladies, this is the must-have for this season. Gingham is my new favorite style. You can either wear it casually or dress them up depending on where you’re going. From skirts, to peplums, or dress pants, this is “THE” style for the season.

60’s & 70’s inspired: Oh so groovy! If you’ve noticed on the Spring 2015 Look-Books, you’ll see that the 60’s and 70’s style has reemerged once again. I could not have imagined bell bottoms ever resurfacing, but hey, you just never know with fashion trends these days. Although some of the pieces from this collection isn’t my favorite this season, you’ll definitely see a little taste of it hitting the runways. In fact, be sure to check out H&M or Zara’s recent spring line. There you’ll find various looks ranging from wide legged trousers, to Bohemian Maxi’s, and peasant blouses. 60’s and 70’s is here and that my friends is groovy.

Floral/Tropical Prints: Need a dose of paradise? Perhaps a Floral Print can solve that problem.  Interesting enough, the floral prints were big in the 90’s and have resurfaced in a big way. Floral prints can be worn for almost any occasion.

Gladiator Sandals: This is Sparta! Okay…maybe not. Gladiator sandals are here! Throw on these bad boys with a denim ripped shorts or skater skirt, and you’ll be ready for the spring and summer.

Military Chic: Camo-printed asymmetrical skirt with an Olive blouse will sure have you look like you’re on a runway. Military chic style is oh so chic! Some may argue that this color palette is more suitable for Fall wear but you can get away with it all year round.

Black and White E’rthing:  Black and white attire can go from day to evening wear. From sophistication to chic, you will most definitely turn heads and stand out.

Well, there you have it, these are MY spring fashion picks that are trending.
