GINGHAM STYLE

Gingham here, gingham there, gingham-gingham everywhere! Okay…that was corny! If you haven’t  figured it out by now, you will. Gingham is theeeee print this season! It is here and it is popping. By the looks of it, it may be here for a few more season or maybe even longer.

I absolutely love gingham prints! I remember my first purchase a few years back. I love how it can go from simple to ‘chicashly’ easy to style. It’s the type of print that can practically be worn with almost any other print or color. The plus side to it is…it can be worn year round in every season as well, especially during Spring and Summer seasons. Who knew that a basic picnic table cloth print would be a fashion staple!?

For today’s look, I wanted a really simple chic style. So I went with a black and white monochromatic gingham print for my top and bottom pieces. Then added my OTK (over-the-knee for those that are wondering) caged boots by Vince Camuto (and yes ladies, there is such a thing as summer boots). Threw in a pair of mirror shades, and voila, I have a simple and chic look.

Gingham is also one of those tricky prints. I know so many people that aren’t necessarily into gingham prints or styles, because it can seem too uniformed or bland depending on how it’s worn. However, I’d say challenge yourself  by adding this print to your wardrobe and style it to what fits you best. As the saying goes, “Don’t knock it, until you’ve tried it.”
